Tequesta Civic Association Committees

The important work of the Tequesta Civic Association is done by its committees. Directors and members volunteer to achieve the goals of each committee.

Below are committees dedicated to community issues. Additional committees may be formed during the year to address other community issues. Civic Association committees meet regularly at the call of the President or Chair throughout the year. Members who
cannot attend in person may participate through telephone or video conferencing. Some committees are more active than others, depending on current affairs.
 

Nominating Committee for Annual Meeting

Responsible for recom­mending to the general members of the Civic Association, at a regular or special meet­ing of such general members, a slate of nominees for elec­tion to serve as di­rectors of the Civic Association.

Membership Committee

(Carla Christenson, Chair)

To make recommendations for ways and means to grow the membership of the Tequesta Civic Association and to actively recruit new members. 

Public Safety 
 

The  Village Affairs Committee reports on and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors

in regard to all matters pertaining to public safety in the Village of Tequesta including law enforcement, fire and rescue services, emergency management and building and code enforcement activities. All suchTCA/Committee activities are in regard maintaining quality high levels of public safety services within Tequesta.

Budget and Finance 

The Village Affairs Committee is responsible for reporting on the annual budget process, taxation, assessments, indebtedness, and the overall financial position of the Village, including any and all expenditures and revenues pertaining to it, in order to preserve the integrity of the Village's financial position in keeping with the taxpayer's ability to pay the cost of maintaining governmental operations. In addition, this committee may do research to make recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of  Village operations.

Speakers/Program Committee

This committee is responsible for making recommendations for all proposed speakers and programs to be offered by the Tequesta Civic Association.

Business Committee

 (Andrea Aitken, Chair).

This committee makes recommendations for fostering good relations with and the active participation of the Tequesta business community with the Tequesta Civic Association to give them a voice and our support for the needs of this important aspect of the local economy for the continued viability of having a well-rounded business community that serves the many needs of the residents of Tequesta. 

    Planning, Zoning and Real Estate Committee 

 (Jonathan D. Griffis, Chair)

This committee investigates, reports on, and makes recommendations regarding any aspect of planning, zoning, and real estate matters of importance in or near the Village of Tequesta that could potentially impact the Tequesta citizenry, their property values, and the continued viability of the local environment.

This committee makes recommendations to the Board of Directors for fostering good relations with and the active participation with the Village of Tequesta to give support and recommendations on the needs of this important local government in matters that include public safety, budget and finance and other important services for the continued viability for the quality of life of the citizens and property owners of Tequesta.

Environmental Committee

This committee makes recommendations and provides resources to be made available to the public for the preservation and enhancement of the local and nearby Tequesta  environment for the long-term sustainability and resiliency of all vital natural resources for the health and welfare of Tequesta citizens.
